The 2.6 challenge

We have a number of very worthwhile appeals for you to get involved in as well. For full details of these, please visit Current Appeals

In the last year, all of our worlds have changed, including for us at COSMIC.

Not only are we all working and staying at home, but many of the fundraising events that raise vital funds for us during the year have be cancelled or postponed.

At the same time, the team on the unit need our support more than ever to make sure they can be on the front line and provide the best possible care to our patients and their families. For the first time ever, they are caring for adult patients as well as children.

That’s why we are joining forces with the team from the London Marathon and taking part in the 2.6 Challenge!

What is the 2.6 challenge

This is a challenge for all ages and abilities. Just get thinking of an activity based around the numbers 26 or 2.6 and complete it on or from Sunday April 26.

It could be something as simple as running 2.6 miles, 26 minutes of yoga, or juggling for 26 minutes – or on second thoughts, maybe just 2.6 minutes! You can complete it on your own or get the family involved.

There are no rules (apart from the Government guidelines on how to exercise safely during this time). Whatever you can do, you can be part of it – the main thing is getting active, having fun and raising whatever sponsorship you can to support our team during these difficult times.

So get creative, come up with your challenge and get fundraising!
