Dragon Boat Race

Where: Paddington Basin, Merchant Square W2 1AJ
The Dragon Boat Race has been happening on the Paddington Basin canal for over 10 years. Every year, people from all over the Paddington area come together for a friendly competition to help raise essential funds for Cosmic.
This is your chance to get involved in a fun and unique event to support Cosmic. Challenge your team, colleagues, friends or family to race! A Dragon Boat holds 16 rowers per boat plus a drummer to motivate your team and you can have up to 20 people per team. There will also be a helm which you will not need to provide, and all of the boats and necessary equipment will be provided too.
The registration fee to take part is £500 per team and the fundraising total is a minimum of £1500 per team – that’s £75 per team member.
The competition is open to new-comers. Previous experience of dragon boating is not necessary, but all team members must be able to swim in light clothing.
Try your hand at this 2000 year old sport to see if you can be crowned the fastest team! There are also prizes up for grabs for 1st and 2nd place and the best dressed team… fancy dress is encouraged!
