Families can arrive at hospital with little more than the clothes they are wearing, suddenly facing days, weeks or even months of uncertainty. Alongside the fear of seeing their child critically ill come the practical pressures of staying close to their bedside, finding somewhere to sleep and meeting the everyday cost of food.
No family should have to face a child’s intensive care journey alone.
Our By Their Side appeal is raising vital funds to make sure Cosmic can be there from the moment a family arrives, throughout their time in intensive care and, for those who need us, long after they return home.
From the moment a family arrives, Cosmic is by their side. We provide welcome packs with practical and comforting items, food and refreshments and free accommodation at Cosmic House, helping families stay close to their child’s bedside.
We’re here to ease some of the pressure, so parents can focus on what matters most: being with their child.
For families staying at Cosmic House, having somewhere safe and welcoming to rest close to the hospital can make an enormous difference during an incredibly difficult time.

And when the unimaginable happens, we continue to be there, providing compassionate bereavement support, from precious hand imprints, memory boxes and practical help in the immediate aftermath of a child’s death, through to specialist counselling for parents as they navigate their grief.
