Sir Richard Branson
Sir Richard Branson, internationally renowned businessman and entrepreneur, was first introduced to COSMIC’s work by a journalist friend whose son had survived meningococcal septicaemia in St Mary’s PICU at the age of 10 months. He and the Virgin Group have been tremendously supportive of COSMIC’s fundraising efforts over the years.
Juliet is a star of stage and screen. She has appeared in classical theatre since the early 1980s and was widely acclaimed for her performance opposite Alan Rickman in Anthony Minghella’s Truly Madly Deeply in 1991. Since then she has appeared in a wide range of productions for stage and TV and films including Bend It Like Beckham, Nicholas Nickleby and Mona Lisa Smile. Juliet has been a very loyal supporter of COSMIC and attended the St Mary’s Paediatric Intensive Care Unit’s 10th Anniversary celebrations in 2002. She also kindly donates her time to record the commentary on the video for the COSMIC Annual Dinner & Ball every year.
Sir Terry Wogan OBE
Eurovision legend Sir Terry Wogan has lent his unique brand of commentary to The Eurovision Song Contest since 1971. He also presents his own breakfast radio show on BBC Radio 2, Wake Up To Wogan. Voted TV Personality Of The Year ten times by TV Times, Sir Terry has also won a number of prestigious awards for radio and was honoured with an OBE in 1997. This was superseded in 2005 when he was awarded the Knight Of The British Empire in the Queen's Birthday Honours List. Sir Terry has been a committed supporter of COSMIC since he was invited to visit the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit at St Mary’s shortly after it opened.
